I tried with Bowie I really, really did. I only ever go back to Station To Station. There's something that just grates I do wish I could hear him how others do.

Agree with everything you say about Roxy Music. Opinions eh?

Well, apart from the unfavourable Bowie comparisons, I’m with you all the way. I would just gently remind you that Bowie wrote the lyrics and music for the overwhelming majority of his songs. Ferry had collaborators…

But, they were a simply terrific band, each one of them a virtuoso on their chosen instruments - and never, ever, underestimate the Mighty Paul Thompson’s drumming that so firmly underlaid the whole Roxy sound. McKay, Manzanera, Ferry, and Eno could only do what they did because the foundations of the band were so spectacularly sound.

And Bryan Ferry is a brilliant lyricist, better than Bowie in my view.

I love them; not as much as Bowie, but still, I do love them.

Almost forgotten today, which is negligence bordering on criminality!
